Adventurers raise funds for STS!
In late 2022, a group of mountaineers accomplished a remarkable feat by scaling the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. The team of 13 individuals, including three Directors from STS, undertook the sponsored challenge.
The funds raised have been put to immediate use, as we have invested in the purchase of an anti-poaching dog the training of the dog and a Ranger as part of our ongoing commitment to support Private Rhino Custodians.
Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, is a challenging climb, being the world’s tallest freestanding mountain. However, this group of climbers successfully made it to the top and raised an impressive amount of sponsorship for their effort.
STS has allocated the funds raised to creating this new K9 Anti Poaching Unit. Once training is complete, the K9 unit will be deployed at Insimbi Legacy Projects to monitor and protect the Rhinos there, as well as to support other Rhino owners in the area.
The achievement of this group of mountaineers is highly appreciated, as it has made it possible for STS to expand its efforts in protecting wildlife from poachers. STS is committed to providing long-term support to Private Rhino Custodians, and the addition of the K9 unit is a significant step forward in this endeavour.
We look forward to updating you on the progress of the K9 unit in the coming weeks, and thanks the mountaineers for their invaluable contribution to the cause!
