Seha’s Great Relocation

A Journey of Hope and Healing

In a world where stories of hope often shine through the darkest of times, the tale of Seha, our Southern White Rhino Bull, is nothing short of remarkable. This is a story of resilience, compassion, and the relentless dedication of a community determined to protect and rehabilitate endangered wildlife.

The Beginning of Seha’s Journey

Seha’s story began in 2016 when he fell victim to ruthless poachers who stripped him of his magnificent horns and left him wounded. Many believed euthanasia was the only option, but we saw something extraordinary in Seha – a spirit that refused to be extinguished.

A Community United

Seha’s journey to a better life was made possible through the unwavering support of our incredible community of donors, volunteers, and wildlife enthusiasts. Your donations fuelled our mission, allowing us to embark on an ambitious project to relocate Seha to a new property better suited to his needs after it became apparent that the property he was living on was not suitable and we were having to give him regular supplimentary feed. We want Seha to live a life as close to wild as possible, with as little human interaction as possible. This new property is perfect.

Preparing for the Relocation

Months of planning and preparation went into ensuring the safe and stress-free relocation of Seha, along with two cows and their adorable calves. Seha, in particular, received special care as we ensured he was fit and ready for this life-changing move.

A Touching Moment

One of the most touching moments during Seha’s journey was the bond that developed between him and our dedicated head veterinarian, Dr. Johan. It’s a testament to the deep connections that form between our team and the animals we care for.

A Brighter Future Beckons

Finally, the day arrived when we released Seha, the cows, and their calves onto the new property. Seha will spend the first weeks in a smaller enclosure, where our team will closely monitor his well-being. The cows’ horns were removed to ensure their safety as they all come together to live harmoniously.

Join Us in Writing a New Chapter

This journey wouldn’t have been possible without your incredible support. Your donations have made it possible for Seha to begin this new chapter in his life. But our work is far from over. We invite you to join us in safeguarding the future of these magnificent creatures.

Seha’s story is a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together to protect and heal the natural world. Together, we’re writing a story where love and compassion conquer all challenges. Seha and his new companions are now on a journey of a lifetime, and we’re committed to ensuring they thrive.
