Seha’s Journey : Soon to be a Dad again?

The Ultimate Rhino Survivor Thriving Against the Odds

In the vast, dusty plains of Africa, where the sunsets paint the sky in hues of orange and gold, a remarkable story of resilience and hope unfolds. This is the story of Seha, our ultimate Rhino survivor, who has overcome unimaginable odds and is now thriving in his new home.

A Harrowing Beginning

Seha’s journey began with a horrific poaching attack in 2016. The injuries he sustained were the worst our team had ever seen a Rhino survive. But Seha’s spirit was unbroken. We rescued him, determined to give him a second chance at life.

Thriving in His New Home

Fast forward to today, and Seha is a beacon of hope and strength. After settling into his new reserve, Seha’s natural instincts have been reignited. A nearby bull has sparked his territorial behaviours, and Seha can often be seen patrolling his land with pride, marking his presence by urinating and kicking his dung—a unique Rhino method of territory marking.

A Hopeful Future

Seha’s interactions with the females in his territory have given us hope for the future. His testosterone-fuelled behaviour is a promising sign that he may have successfully mated with one of the cows. We eagerly anticipate the possibility of hearing the delicate sound of baby Rhino feet in the not-too-distant future.

A Legacy of Strength

Seha is already a proud father. In 2019, he passed on his remarkable genes to his first son, Daniel, who celebrated his 5th birthday last week. Will Seha’s next calf be another magnificent bull like Daniel, or a strong female who will continue this valuable Rhino bloodline? Only time will tell.

Your Support Makes It Possible

Seha’s incredible journey from near death to thriving survivor is a testament to the power of resilience and the difference that dedicated conservation efforts can make. This transformation would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our donors. Your contributions have given Seha and many others a second chance at life.

We invite you to celebrate Seha’s story with us. Enjoy the beautiful photo of Seha against the breathtaking African sunset, a true testament to his resilience and our collective hope for the future.
