Solio Game Reserve and Rhino Orphanage

Saving the Survivors is proud to announce a powerful new partnership with Solio Game Reserve, Kenya’s oldest private rhino sanctuary and a global leader in rhino conservation.

Established in 1970 by Courtland Parfet, Solio Game Reserve transformed a portion of his cattle ranch into the world’s first private rhino sanctuary. Situated between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains, the 17,500-acre reserve has been instrumental in protecting and breeding black rhinos in Kenya.

Solio’s pioneering efforts have led to the successful breeding and reintroduction of rhinos across Africa, making it one of the most successful private rhino breeding reserves in the region.

Since 2012, Saving the Survivors has been dedicated to providing life-saving veterinary care to rhinos and other endangered wildlife affected by poaching. Our mission includes pioneering surgical treatments for devastating injuries and supporting breeding programs for both white and black rhinos.

Through this collaboration, we aim to combine our veterinary expertise with Solio’s secure breeding environment to protect, rehabilitate, and grow rhino populations. This partnership exemplifies how medical intervention and strategic breeding can combat the devastating effects of poaching.

Together, we are committed to giving these majestic animals a second chance at life and ensuring their survival for generations to come.
