Cheetah Relocation Update
A Promising New Beginning
We’re delighted to share some uplifting news from the field—our two recently relocated male cheetahs are thriving in their new environment!
Since arriving in their temporary boma, the coalition has shown every sign of a successful adjustment. They’re confidently exploring their surroundings, maintaining a strong appetite, and displaying the alert, inquisitive behaviour that cheetahs are known for. Their sleek coats gleam under the Limpopo sun, and their steady progress reassures us that they’re on track for a smooth transition.
These encouraging early signs are exactly what we hoped for. Their health and behaviour suggest they’re adapting well, setting the stage for the next exciting phase: their release into a vast, protected 20,000-hectare reserve where they’ll have the space and freedom to thrive in the wild.
This milestone is part of a larger effort to support cheetah conservation and rewilding in southern Africa. The success of this relocation wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of the Veterinary Conservation Coalition—to whom we extend our deepest thanks.
