Exciting Update from Saving The Survivors!
We are thrilled to share a glimpse into our latest efforts to protect and conserve the magnificent Black Rhino population in South Africa!
Thanks to your incredible support, our team, led by founder and lead veterinarian Dr. Johan Marais, recently embarked on a daring mission to dart and collar two Black Rhinos as part of our ongoing conservation efforts.
The video which you can view on our social media captures the intense process of darting these majestic creatures from a helicopter, showcasing the challenges our team faces in the rugged terrain Black Rhinos call home. With precision and dedication, we successfully fitted them with state-of-the-art tracking collars. These collars allow rangers to monitor the Rhinos’ movements and ensure their safety around the clock.
These Rhinos were among several introduced to a game reserve in the Limpopo region as part of a vital breeding program aimed at expanding their range and safeguarding their future. The AI ankle collars, generously funded by a private donor and Rhino Rescue UK, play a crucial role in our conservation efforts. They enable us to track the Rhinos’ daily activities and provide valuable insights into their behaviours and habitat preferences.
Your donations make all of this possible, and we cannot thank you enough for your unwavering support!
Every contribution helps us continue our mission to protect and save these incredible animals from the threats they face.
Together, we are making a difference and ensuring a brighter future for Black Rhinos and all wildlife. Join us in celebrating this milestone and consider donating today to support our ongoing efforts. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and ensure a world where wildlife thrives!
