Play Your Part in Our Next Mission:

Collaring to Protect Endangered Black Rhinos

At Saving the Survivors, we’re preparing for an urgent and impactful mission—and we’re inviting you to be part of it.

In late June, our veterinary team will travel to a 20,000-hectare reserve in Limpopo, South Africa, to collar 5 endangered Black Rhinos. These collars are not just devices—they’re lifelines. They enable rangers to track rhino movements in real time, understand their patterns, and respond swiftly if a threat arises. In vast reserves like this one, tracking collars are critical to ensuring rhinos receive round-the-clock protection.

Why We’re Needed

The reserve where we’ll be working is home to both Black and White rhino, and while it boasts stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife, it faces a sobering challenge: no government support. Like many reserves across southern Africa, it operates with limited resources and low tourism due to its location—yet it carries the enormous responsibility of protecting some of the world’s most endangered species.

Collaring rhinos is essential—but costly.

  • The collars themselves are expensive

  • A helicopter is required to locate and safely dart the animals

  • Our experienced veterinary team provides sedation, care, and monitoring

  • Medications, equipment, and follow-up all add to the mission cost

That’s why we need your help.

How You Can Make a Difference

To carry out this critical work, we need to raise $5,000. These funds will directly cover the costs of the collars and the operational expenses needed to complete the mission safely and successfully.

We know from experience that our supporters make miracles happen—and this is one of those moments. Every single donation counts, no matter the amount. Whether you can give $10 or $1,000, your support brings us one step closer to keeping these rhinos safe.

And for any individual or organisation able to make a significant contribution, we’d love to offer something truly special: an invitation to join our team on the ground, stay on the reserve, and see firsthand the life-saving impact of your support.

Join Us in Protecting These Icons of the Wild

Your generosity makes our work possible. Together, we can ensure that the rhinos of Limpopo—and across Africa—have a fighting chance at survival.
