Rhino Poaching Crisis: The Unseen Reality

As we confront the escalating rhino poaching crisis, the true scale of this tragedy often remains hidden from view. While there has been a slight decline in reported poaching incidents, this does not signal victory—it is a grim reflection of the decreasing rhino population.
The demand for rhino horn remains high, and poachers continue their ruthless pursuit, leaving devastating scars across Africa’s wildlife.
Dr. Johan Marais, our founder and lead veterinarian at Saving the Survivors, recently witnessed the aftermath of a heart-wrenching poaching attack. Two rhinos were brutally targeted; their horns hacked away in a ruthless act of violence. Despite our rapid response, we arrived too late to save these victims. Their loss is a painful reminder of the urgency of our work and the staggering brutality we seek to end.
Our team does not stop at responding to these scenes of tragedy. Our veterinarians work closely with law enforcement, providing essential forensic evidence to aid investigations and increase the chance of justice for these magnificent creatures. However, this mission is extensive and costly, and we rely entirely on the generosity of supporters like you.
