Saving The Survivors reaches out to the next generation through Education
STS not only treats endangered wildlife, but we also focus on educating people about our precious animals and environment.
Recently Dr. Johan was invited as a speaker at the World Youth Wildlife Summit to talk to the young people about Rhino and Elephant, amongst other things. 165 young people, aged 15 to 24, were invited to attend the Summit and the delegates, educators, conservation role models and speakers represented 16 countries: South Africa, Kingdom of eSwatini, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Vietnam, Taiwan, Germany, India, Norway, Greece, the UK and the USA.
Saving The Survivors believes that the education of younger generations is the key for the conservation of wildlife. By educating young people we hope to inspire them to become more conscious and appreciative of their environments. This appreciation will in tun help to protect these environments and the species which occupy them.
The summit was possible by Project Rhino, African Conservation Trust, Rhino Art, Kingsley Holgate Foundation, SA Wildlife College and numerous other sponsors.
Going forward, we will be partnering with conservation bodies to further enhance the education of children and creating awareness of our environment. This is as well as our community outreach programs where we help local communities understand Wildlife and how to protect themselves and their property, in ways that are safe for humans and animals.
